First Post, Hello!

Hello, I'm Lucie but my friends call me Lu and you can too. I'm 21 years old, but I haven't really experienced being 21 yet because my birthday was in the middle of the pandemic, I'm sure some of my classmates can relate. During the pandemic I moved from Corvallis, back to Portland where I grew up, and now I'm trying to find a new space and new adventure while finishing school online.

I'm taking this course because it is required for my major, but I have always been really interested in marketing, I just never knew where to start. I'm a naturally artistic person so I'm always looking for ways in business to bring in some fun, color, and creativity. I think marketing is a good place for this. I'm glad to be here now and jump head first into this information. Marketing is used for everything it seems like. I'm excited to gain this knowledge and apply it to the rest of my business career.

I'm in my third year as a dual degree student at OSU and LBCC. I am currently working towards my bachelors degree in business administration. I chose this major because I tend to be a very adaptable person and I wanted my degree to go hand in hand with that. I still don't know what I want to do after graduation but for me there's beauty in that. I love the idea of having tons of options, seeing what comes to me, and figuring out what will work well for me.

I've always been passionate about style, I guess is what I would call it. We have to get dressed everyday, it might as well be in something that makes you feel confident, and brings you joy. Other than outfits there's still shoes, accessories, your hair, makeup, and more. Every part of how someone presents themselves is their style. I've really enjoyed having down time during quarantine to work on my own style. Quarantine also helped me develop the skill of acrylic nails which is something I really enjoy doing. My sister and I started watching videos, then slowly buying equipment and supplies, and then we practiced like hell till we started to get good. We practiced on each other, friends and family, and now we save so much money by not going to the nail salon. Other than nails and style I would say daily passion of mine is music. I don't make any myself but I'm constantly listening to something, looking for new artists, and making playlists. I love music cause I never fail to get lost in it. It really is an escape, you can drown everything out, which was very needed during 2020.

I'm already enjoying this blog portion of the class, I'm excited to see how the rest of the term will play out.
